The two-day meeting at Accademia Galli set the official beginning of the European Commission project Shaping The Future – STF – featuring Accademia Galli and other three European partners.
The two days were dedicated to work and discussions, but also to an appreciation of the cultural and picturesque city of Como for the project partners coming from Brussels, Ljubljana and Budapest.
Shaping the Future – STF, was born out of Accademia’s participation in the Creative Europe call, which supports projects for the development of culture and new media.
Specifically, the project aims to support visual artists in the conception and production of digital projects that can identify different scenarios for the future, enriching their skills related to new digital technologies.
The transversal theme of the whole project will be sustainability, with a special focus on digital technologies and internet platforms as well as future implementations to reduce their environmental impact. A research with a "green digital" approach.
The project, coordinated by the Accademia Galli has DRUSTVO LJUDMILA LABORATORIJ ZA ZNANOST IN UMETNOST in Ljubljana as partner. Ljudmila is a non-profit association that has been creating connections between art and technology, supporting young local artists, and organizing workshops in collaboration with other realities present in Ljubljana since 1994. The association’s specification is software programming and hardware assembly.
MOHOLY-NAGY MUVESZETI EGYETEM of Budapest is the Budapest University of Art and Design, committed to training creatives and professionals in fields ranging from art to communication. Indeed, the institution offers programs in art, architecture, design, and visual communication.
CityFab1 in Brussels was born 5 years ago in Brussels and is part of a network of FabLabs in the Belgian capital. This reality is committed to specialized training and the use of machinery through thematic workshops open to all and in artist’s residency programs.
The project will be developed in all the partners’ buildings and will last 24 months with physical and digital events taking place throughout Europe.
